Leslie Marshall, MD
is an Emergency Physician who worked for over 24 years at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was born in New York and grew up across the globe, including Ethiopia, Kenya and Indonesia. She worked as a volunteer for SAFEchild (Stop Abuse For Every Child) and is Past President of their Board of Directors. SAFEchild works with families, caregivers and parents with a fervent goal to eradicate child abuse in Wake County. Leslie graduated from George Washington University with a degree in French and attended the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond and did her residency training there. Her son and daughter are high school students in Wake County Public Schools. Leslie developed a passion for parent education when her children were quite young. Her expectation of easy, successful parenting was met with a very different, exhausting and complicated reality. Ultimately she sought training in Parent Education and in 2005 she was certified as an instructor of Positive Discipline. Leslie has a particular interest in Parenting and Divorce. When she is not doing her Mom-job or helping parents, Leslie works part-time as an Emergency Physician and Hospitalist with The Veterans Administration Hospital System.
